Annual Report to Governor, Maryland Agricultural Commission, Maryland Economic Development Commission, & General Assembly due Sept. 28.

In July 2004, the Maryland Agricultural and Resource-Based Industry Development Corporation was authorized as a public corporation and an instrumentality of the State (Chapter 467, Acts of 2004). The Corporation will assist Maryland's agricultural industry with new market development and access to capital, credit, and financing opportunities, as well as technological expertise. Indeed, the Corporation will provide financing and other assistance for product development, growing and processing operations, and technological enhancements that benefit the environment and water quality (Code 1957, Art. 41, secs. 13-501 through 13-515).

The Corporation is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of seventeen members. Eleven are appointed to four-year terms by the Governor, and six serve ex officio (Code 1957, Art. 41, sec. 13-504).
