In the voter's county of residence, a voter may choose to vote on election day at an assigned polling place, or, during a week prior to the election, at any early voting polling site. A voter also may chooose to vote by absentee ballot.
Beginning in 2006, voters may vote early during the week before the Primary Election (Sept. 12, 2006) and the General Election (Nov. 7, 2006) (Chapter 5 & Chapter 61, Acts of 2006). Early voting polling places will be open between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday before the elections. Early voting sites: three locations will be available in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties; one in each of the remaining seventeen counties.
